Kilpan & Associates provides professional psychological counselling, psychiatric services, and career development services. The team at the Kilpan Centre work with people - individuals and companies, small and large - to help them overcome the challenges and concerns of everyday living.

Counselling and criminal assessment The founder of Kilpan & Associates, Tony has over eighteen years of experience as a counsellor.  He has worked with a wide range of clients, both individual and corporate. 

Tony's professional activities include counselling,  criminal and civil Court assessment, corporate work and a range of workshops and seminars.

Sally has a wealth of experience having worked with families, couples and individuals, including adolescents and children for nearly twenty years.  Her areas of expertise include personal and relationship difficulties; physical, emotional and sexual abuse; problems relating to grief and loss; and depression, anxiety and self-esteem.

Linda Makhija works as a life coach and family therapist. Her particular interests include working with people to help them improve their self-esteem and set challenging goals for their personal and professional lives. She helps people develop more effective relationships with others, and more fulfilling lives. Linda also works in organisational assessment, using a variety of psychometric testing tools for occupational or personal development purposes.

With a Masters in Psychological Medicine, Raj has worked as a psychiatrist since 1989, initially overseas, then more latterly in New Zealand. 

Trained in India, he works with a wide range of individual clients and has been published in many professional journals.

Raj provides psychiatric assessment, medication reviews and court reporting services.

Mike Louw has over 11 years experience as a psychiatrist. Trained in South Africa, he works with individual clients from wide range of occupations.

Vinay has over 20 years experience as a practicing psychiatrist. He has many published research articles, presented world wide and chaired scientific conferences.

Vinay's specialist area since 1992 has been child and adolescent psychiatry.

Vinay provides psychiatric assessment for children and adolescents, medication reviews and court reporting services.

JUDY FORSYTH
Judy Forsyth has over 20 years of clinical experience working with acute and chronic health, clinical cancer counselling, grief, loss and bereavement, and trauma. She has worked as a counsellor, manager and supervisor in the Cancer Society, Hospitals, Oncology Units and Hospices and has taught psycho-oncology, grief and bereavement counselling at tertiary level.

Judy specialises in survivorship issues (how to move on in a positive way) after an episode of illness or an accident, feelings of being traumatized after invasive procedures and treatments, grief and bereavement counselling, the loss of separation and divorce (pre- and post-divorce counselling), life transitions and personal growth and stress management.

DR MHAIRI DUFF

Dr Mhairi Duff is a UK trained psychiatrist who moved to New Zealand five years ago. She has dual training in both clinical psychology and psychiatry.

She has interests in forensic work and the assessment and treatment of intellectual disabilities, brain injury and autistic spectrum disorders as well as more than 15 years experience working across a range of mental health fields.

She has published and presented widely and can also offer supervision, training and support to other clinicians, families, carers and organizations working with people with intellectual disabilities.

Emigrated to NZ in 2003. Worked for DHB’s North Island and Counties Manukau since April 2008. Interest Adult Psychiatry (Biological; Forensic ACC, Immigration, expat South Africans).

DR LOURENS FERREIRA

Dr Ferreira has over 35 years experience in Education and Training.

He has worked extensively in the EAP field and has specialised in short term solution-focused therapy, stress management, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, CBT, career assessment, family and couple counselling.

He was also involved with the development of HIV/AIDS Life Skills and Peer counselling programmes for SAQA in South Africa.
